General Mobiles DSTL1

General Mobiles DSTL1

At the beginning of this year General Mobiles had announced their entry into the Android Mobile handset division with their DSTL1 touchscreen handset with Dual SIM capabilities. The company is now about to release the handset in June in Russia and Germany is what reports are saying. A few features are still sketchy but from the images that were released earlier, the handset looks quite stylish nevertheless.

The General Mobiles does feature –

* a 3-inch touchscreen with a 240 x 400 pixel, 260K color resolution (WQVGA)
* Wi-Fi, EDGE and GPRS support
* 4GB of internal memory with external support form microSD cards (up to 8GB)
* Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
* Media player with DivX playback support, FM radio
* 5 megapixel AF camera with flash
* MS document reader
* Java support

The pricing of the handset has not yet been revealed but reports are estimating it to be in the vicinity of Rs. 30,000 ($550-$750). With any luck it’ll move a little southward and find its way to our shores.
